Gay and Lesbian Tourism Australia (GALTA) recently held their 2010 Annual General Meeting at The Watermark Hotel in Surfers Paradise.
This meeting was well attended both by Directors and Regional Representatives as well as a number of GALTA’s current members.
Members were informed that GALTA is in a positive financial position and is proactively engaging in partnerships with regional and national tourism organisations.
GALTA Managing Director Rod Stringer stated that “ …the board is planning a robust 12 months which includes attending travel expos, building on strategic partnerships and plans to launch a new website. We also see this year as a perfect time to increase our membership base and to enhance our client bank.”
“This will be achieved through a number of networking and promotional activities of which GALTA aims to provide its members with an unparalleled exposure to gay and lesbian travellers around Australia and overseas.“
Following the AGM, GALTA hosted an informative presentation by Lynne Hocking and Linda Saunders from travelackie.com. This session provided members with tips on how to maximise your business website ensuring it is performing well in search rankings and also practical ideas on what the captures the travelling consumer attention.
