GALTA goes to Canberra’s SpringOut Fairday

Canberra SpringOut FairdayMore than 1500 people turned out for the annual SpringOut Fairday in the Nations Capital on Saturday 30 October and GALTA was amongst the festivities.

Marking the launch of the month long SpringOut Festival, official proceedings included speeches by ACT Minister for Tourism, Andrew Barr and a rousing performance by the Gay and Lesbian Qwire.

The gardens of Westlund House were turned into a queer wonderland featuring a variety of stalls, an entertainment stage and an opportunity to partake in a spot of people watching.

GALTA’s Northern Territory Director, Phil Walcott and Secretariat Rohan Shearn were joined by Out Travel’s Reece Farmilo were on hand on the GALTA Stand to answer questions from potential travelers as well as handing out our new pink showbags full of members brochures.

This is the second year that GALTA has participated at the SpringOut Fairday, who have recently joined as a new Member.
