GALTA once again made the journey to Melbourne to participate at the fabulous Midumma Carnival on Sunday 17th January in the beautiful Alexandra Gardens.
A glorious day greeted patrons with the Gardens filling up quickly with a huge array of all queer folk perusing the diverse range of stalls and entertainment on offer.
Company Secretary, Brett Hayhoe was interviewed by the team at JOY Radio and managed to get a plug in for GALTA ensuring our stand was kept busy throughout the day.
Brett (Q Magazine, Melbourne), Rod (Horizons at Peregian, Sunshine Coast), Ian (Turtle Cove, Cairns) and Rohan (GALTA Secretariat, Canberra) were on hand to answer questions from potential travelers as well as handing out members brochures. Patrons also had the chance to enter the various competitions provided by Horizons at Peregian and Turtle Cove.
On Saturday 16th January, GALTA was graciously hosted by the fabulous Shane and David at Prahran Village Guest House (Member #244) for our January Board meeting. Much was achieved and discussed including planning for the remainder of the year.
Our next event will be the Mardi Gras Fair Day to be held on Sunday 21st February at Victoria Park in Sydney.
