GALTA had a clear presence at the fabulous Midumma fair day again this year held in the beautiful Alexandra Gardens of Melbourne. A glorious day filled with a huge array of all queer folk (and their dogs!!!). Our site was very busy throughout the day with loads of member collateral being circulated to the mingling throngs.
Brett (Q Magazine, Melbourne), Rod (Horizons at Peregian, Sunshine Coast), Tim (Galstays, Daylesford), Paul (Huon Bush Retreats, Hobart) and Phil (The Rainbow Connection, Alice Springs) were kept busy throughout the day responding to questions for potential travellers, having people enter various competitions provided by Horizons at Peregian and Tourism Tasmania and generally having a great day out in sunny Melbourne.
We were particularly impressed with Pride Travel who had staff t-shirts proudly displaying the GALTA logo on the sleeve. Great work, Pride Travel (with a pretty proud web-site).
Much was achieved at the GALTA Board meeting held on Saturday 17th January. We were accommodated for the meeting by the fabulous Shane and David, our gracious hosts at Prahran Village Guest House (GALTA member #244). The boyz have a most spectacular property. Phil had the pleasure of staying there over the weekend and was looked after superbly.
All in all a very successful weekend for GALTA and it’s members.
