TasmaniaBushwalking, wildlife, food and wine, history and personal service. Tasmania is a dream come true for gay and lesbian travellers who enjoy nature and a quieter pace of life. There's a network of gay-owned and gay-friendly guesthouses, hotels, and bed and breakfasts throughout Tasmania, with small, friendly gay and lesbian communities in Hobart and Launceston.
Drive to Freycinet National Park, then walk to the magnificent Wineglass Bay. Contrast this with the alpine environment around Cradle Mountain which couldn't be more different. The architectural remains of Australia’s Colonial past are evident throughout the island. Don't miss a visit to penitentiaries like Port Arthur and Richmond, which stand as brutal reminders of the convict era.
If it's food and wine you're interested in, the vineyards of the Tamar Valley are producing some very tasty Pinot Noirs and Rieslings, and the cellar doors are well worth the trip. The seafood, cheeses and other organic foods produced by this island state are amazingly tasty. Hobart has some great cafes and restaurants – but make sure your visit includes a Saturday for the famous Salamanca Market - a feast for all senses.
Most visitors hire a car here. They are plentiful and inexpensive, and the driving is short and slow paced. Or book a boutique guided tour, sit back and relax. There are air links from most cities, and a regular ferry service from Melbourne to Devonport.
Private and Personalised tours throughout Tasmania in a comfortable 6 seater 4WD vehicle with leather seats, DVD and personalised headsets with a fridge on board for purchases along the way or for picnics on different tours.
I cater for days through to weeks in an unhurried and flexible pace – taking you through the back roads and getting off the main roads when possible.I specialise in itinerary building depending on your choice and if time allows taking in extra sights along the way if you have no deadlines.
I am very flexible and easy going and have lots of laughs along the way.
